South Pioneers Outfitters was founded in 2002 by Ramiro de las Carreras, an agronomic engineer and MBA, who has worked for over 15 years developing some successful ventures in the tourism business.

The interest in San Luis was established after making a scouting by the provinces of Cordoba, La Pampa, Santiago del Estero, La Rioja, Catamarca and Santa Fe.

In San Luis he found what is difficult to find at any part of the world: an impressive population of pigeons and doves all at one place!

He added to these excellent hunting fields an experienced team of professionals who believes service is a 360 º experience; taking care of every aspect of passenger stay at the lodge, from transportation, accommodation, menu and the most important: to give each visitor what he needs at the time requested.

Ramiro is an agronomist and MBA involved with the detail of every group visiting the lodge.

Over the last ten years I have produced the TV show, Shotgun Journal. The show has give me the opportunity to shoot birds all over the world.

I hold some of these hunts in fond memory, and our trip with South Pioneers in Argentina to shoot decoying pigeons and doves is one of them.

The accomodation is wonderful, modern in comfort and amenities.

The food excellent, but the shooting is what I will remember forever, it was the best pigeon & dove shooting I have experienced, anywhere.

We had doves passing over us and pigeons diving to our decoy spread all day.

I am reluctant to say how many we shot in the three days we hunted, but I will say that.

Just a short note to let you and your staff know, the three of us, Chap, Fincher and myself could not have enjoyed ourselves more at your lodge shooting pigeons.

We had the best pigeon shoot that we have had since I have been going to Argentina.

Thats about fifteen or sixteen times, I would have to check my passport to be sure.

The ride through the mountains was breathtaking and beautiful. Your personal attention to our needs and your service impeckable.

Ramiro was an excellent host. Huge numbers of pigeons. Comfortable lodging with superb personal attention by the hotel staff and great food! Special kudos to Edgar, the chief waiter who spoiled us to death!

Ramiro and José worked tirelessly to find us the best shooting positions for pigeons and doves.

I personally would not have wanted to shoot another day--I was exhausted. Great bird boy--Mattias--very careful withy my guns and a hard worker.
